Mr Anurag Golash graduated in 1990 and completed his higher surgical training in Cardiff. He has a special interest in kidney diseases, prostate cancer and keyhole surgery. He was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in 2004 to develop Laparoscopic surgical services in Urology.
Mr Anurag Golash was the ‘first in the world’ to report Laparoscopic Nephrectomy as a day case procedure – news which featured in BBC, local and national newspapers. He was awarded ‘Citizen of the Year’ award for this innovation by the North Staffordshire council. He regularly performs surgery for kidney obstruction and stones, as well as surgery for prostate enlargement, foreskin and testicular problems. He is the Head of the Department of Urology at the University Hospital North Midlands.
He is an key member of an enhanced recovery panel of national experts in kidney surgery.
