Minimally invasive treatment for BPH

Minimally invasive treatment for BPH

Urolift is the latest innovation in the relief of poor flow in men with benign prostatic hypertrophy. This minimally invasive treatment now has excellent scientific clinical evidence showing effectiveness with minimal side effects. Conventional treatments for men with benign prostate problems have been to use either diathermy cutting or a laser to remove the excess prostate tissue that causes the significantly bothersome symptoms of poor flow, hesitancy and peeing at night. These conventional treatments have the potential to cause erectile problems, bleeding and the need for catheterisation post-operatively. Patients who have so far had the Urolift device inserted have had no additional erectile problems reported. It also has the advantage of being performed as a daycare procedure under a general anaesthetic. The majority of patients will not require catheterisation following the procedure. Lyndon Gommersall
