Laparoscopic nephrectomy video

During the procedure, whilst under general anaesthetic 4 (left side) or 5 (right side) small holes are used to introduce instruments into the abdomen. These instruments are used to cut around the kidney, clamp or staple the renal artery and vein, then remove it. To remove the kidney it is first put in a bag and then removed through one of the existing holes that is extended to the size of the kidney.
